Today is my birthday! I’m old enough now that people at work actually believe me when I tell them I know about something, and therefore I’m too old to tell you how old I am.
I hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving. It’s my favorite holiday because its message is so universal. This year, my aunt came to visit, and, in addition to eating lots of yummy food, we got to see her for the first time since our wedding, and she got to meet the Munchkin!
Among the things I’m thankful for: my family and friends, most especially a Munchkin whose Mommy I get to be; the opportunity to sit down and have a lovely meal with loved ones without wondering if our home is safe or if we can afford our next meal; the completion of Dark Empire and the chance to have written a story that means so much to me; the fact of social media and all my blog readers and writing supporters; and, on a fun note, the fact that everything one could possibly want to buy is available on Amazon.com, so I don’t have to go to the mall unless I want to!
Our tree isn’t up yet, but lots of other news:
1) The novel edits are complete(!): Dark Empire is longer than either of the first two Harry Potter books, and is about the same length as Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief.
2) My proofreader (and high school friend) is currently hard at work moving through the manuscript. As soon as she gets it back to me, I’ll make the changes and get the final ebooks uploaded for purchase on Amazon and Barnes & Noble.
3) New (hopefully prettier) headers are now in place on the website. I’m no web designer, but I’m slowly learning a bit of image editing and HTML. If you notice any glitches, please let me know.
4) The newsletter sign-up should be working properly now. I finally have it linked to the website and hopefully directed to the correct email address.
